Accessible Housing Register
Upon registration of your Housing Application or if your circumstances change and your current home is unsuitable for your needs, through either physical or mental illness, then we will refer your application to our Occupational Therapist. Your needs will then be assessed through a home visit to determine your priority.
If after your home visit it is decided by the Occupational Therapist that your current home is not suitable for your needs then your application will be added to the Accessible Housing Register. Once an adapted property becomes vacant which meets your housing needs, the Accessible Housing Register Co-ordinator can nominate you for that property along with other eligible applicants.
If you are placed on the Accessible Housing Register, you will still be able to bid on properties of which you are eligible for within your current band.
There maybe occasions when a Medical Officer will carry out an assessment of your home, this may occur if you are in hospital and unable to be allowed home because your property is unsuitable for your needs.
